Set the Bar High

When I first started my Buzz Marketing and Consultants back in September 2000, I thought my business card and website were impressive. The logo design cost $240 and the business card printing was about $149. That’s now history.

When I launched our new incorporated company, Lift Strategies, in September 2007, I made the conscious decision to set the bar high. That meant committing to an impressive new brand with an equally impressive investment. Then, in September 2008, we bolstered our website (www.liftstrategies.com) to really speak to our ideal clients and, again, this required a big financial commitment.

What are you doing to make a great first impression to your prospects? When you hand out your business card or send prospects to your website, do you get goose bumps, feel like a proud mom (or dad) or smirk with pure joy?

Two weeks ago, I attended a spectacular High Output Business Networking event (www.highoutputnetworking.com) and met up with business owners Debra Roed and Arthur Gemperle of Yellow Van Handyman (www.yellowvanhandyman.com). Debra and Arthur own a Yellow Van Handyman franchise. Previously, the company was originally known as Home Task Services and had made a so-so brand impression. Then, their head office recently underwent an entire rebranding process.

The new Yellow Van Handyman brand is impressive. It’s fun, approachable and stands out. Debra told me that people stop just to admire their vans. Well done.
