Automated Marketing

The more speaking engagements I do, the more I travel. Through travelling I have discovered how many things are automated, even compared to a few years back. I used to get excited about getting a paper towel from an automated dispenser in public bathrooms and now things have gone beyond that.

At the beginning of June, I was staying at the amazing beautiful Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert. To my surprise, when I left the public washroom on the main floor, the door automatically opened for me. Back when I was 14, on vacation in Florida with my family, I stuck my hand inside a pop machine. With only a few scratches, I was able to retrieve a free can of pop. Nowadays, the beverage machines at most airports are so automated that a mechanical arm grabs the bottle of your choice and delivers to it to an automated door.
